I think they're good to go. They have carbon fiber drags rather than Dartanium and the Trinidad DC dogs are what get added to Toriums and std Trinidads to improve them. Both my Toriums have Carbontex drags and DC dogs that click.

Man! I am jealous! That TN 20DC is killer reel for surface iron. Where can I find one?

I dont think you can do much to them besides fish them hard. I have 3 myself and just love them.

On another note, for those of you who are or will now be on the hunt for a Trini DC reel after this post, don't turn your nose up at a 16DC. Unless you're going to spool your reel with straight mono, with the advent of the new thinner super braids, you can back the spool up with around 300+ yds of Maxcuatro and still put a ton of mono on top.

I have over 400+ yards of 80lb Maxcuatro and a short mono leader on my 16DC. I opted for the 16DC as there's less spool to have to lay the line back on...it's the crown jewel in my collection.

Nice set of DC's Billy! I think one of those 20's was the BNIB one I put you on via PM when you were looking for another one last year.

There is no need to upgrade anything on the DC models. They are good to go out of the box. My personal reels I ditched the spring tension assist stopper for the silent version in the gold Trinidad. I did not like the clicking noise. The DC also has a different anti reverse bearing with a seal.
