Holly Shit! It rains in Phoenix? Damn it, my wife and I are about 3-4 months from moving there from Seattle. By the way after 40 years as a commercial construction carpenter, the last 25 as a Superintendant on $25 -$200 million + projects, we pour in the rain all the time.Back to the important stuff, I’d be interested in talking to like minded fishermen when we get down there.
PS I moved to Washington from Encinitas in 1982.

Phoenix Fishing Supply is at 16th St and Camelback. They have everything you need to fish short or long range. Gaudy is the Owner and Ted is the second mate. Great guys who know their stuff. Great selection of gear both fresh and salt.

Yuma here. 3 hours to the Parking Lot at Fisherman's Landing for me. I used to fish a ton but slowed down. Ready to get back in the mix.

True, but having a boat on a trailer helps. Just a few hours drive. Both my boats have cabins, so it wouldn't be hard to grab a nap before launching or after hitting the water.

That would be very helpful that's one reason I bought a bigger boat after all that work I need a place to sleep. What boats do you have?

I have my Arima, which has been my main work horse. It's only a 17' but quite capable offshore. It's only limitation is fuel. It only holds 23 gallons.

My project boat is a 24' Skipjack Flybridge. I have to rebuild the AD41 that's in it.

I've had the Arima for seven years. Bought it as a bare boat, with an old Mercury outboard and a compass. Repowered it in 2012, and over the next four years I slowly added things to it. Now it's pretty much where I like it. Newer electronics would be nice, but what I have does the job.

The Skipjack I've had for about a year and a half. I haven't done much to it, except find that the engine is seized. This year I plan on getting the engine torn down and rebuilt. I did buy a tower for it, but I won't install that until after it's running. While the engine is out, I will rewire it as well, along with cleaning and painting the engine bay. I'll probably replace the bilge pumps and through hull pumps as well.
