Go to Home Depot and get a torch kit...about $20....make sure there is no water in the line ,and do it yourself!....make sure everything is clean and use the flux.....Where do you live at?.....I am in Escondido.....
I have the torch kit, apparently i am not proficent enough to use it. Cant get the flux to get hot enough for the solder to take.
I am in Serra Mesa by Qualcomm stadium
are you using MAP gas or propane?
You need to use the Map gas ....it burns hotter....the solder now days has no lead and has to reach a higher temp to flow!
What size copper you trying to solder?
You have moisture in the fitting. Take the crust off a slice of bread and make a dough ball and stuff it in the pipe to hold back the water.
Make sure the fitting & pipe are clean w/flux and heat the fitting, not the pipe.
The bread will flush out.
You can do it
Make sure there is NO water in the line as you are trying to solder! A trick I use when I can't get the valve to shut down completley is to stick a piece of bread in the line....it stops the flow of water long enough to solder the joint....then it just flushes out!
ahhh just like the ole cane pole and catfish/blue gill days
