Some buddies and I are coming down for this trip. We've all been on half-a-dozen Islander kayak mothership trips, but this will be our first time targetting fish from the big boat.

Can't wait for some sunshine, fresh ocean air, and a chance to play with all the new gear I've acquired for an upcoming 10 day!

i guess you'll have to bring all 10 rods for that one too. Hope you knock 'em dead Dustin.

I can say you'll be happier than me on the Intrepid in Oct. Your shorter yak rods are better than all my 8-10 footers on that boat. My shortest rod doesn't store upright against the house.

Unfortunately, none of my kayak rods are suitable for our 10 day. My heaviest kayak set-up is maybe a 30lb set-up. No need for anything over 10lbs of drag since you become the drag when you hook a big fish from the yak.

All my 10 day gear is recently purchased and a lot of the rods are 8'ers.
