Seems like deep diver trolling plugs arent that popular anymore. The older SS billed cd series more so than the newer magnum series seem even less popular. Are these still fish catchers or does everyone just have to have the newer "pretty" ones? Ive acquired many of the older ones and was going to buy some newer magnum ones, but for 20 bucks a pop, I'm giving it some extra thought.

Rapala's are fish catchers, and have proven their success. No lure is a guarantee, and some just ain't worth shit.

When fishing from a panga in Mexico they are a "must have " item to have.

The only issue with the older designs is that the thin metal bill would sometimes be bent during the fight, and then would need some effort to readjust. The newer, thicker plastic bills are less hassle. Rapala came out with their newer models after losing a bunch of market share to Yozuri and others who did the plastic bill design.
