Yes. Didnt have an option due to change in boat. One of my worst experiences. PM me if you need more than that.

I went about a month ago, had a great time and everybody caught lots of yft. I was trying to c&r by end of the trip.

It was 1.5 extended and we got on a good kelp first afternoon that yielded iirc 3 or 4 yft for me, plenty of opportunity for everyone on that first evening.

We fished with the rest of the fleet and tried to find new fish during breaks in the action.

It was chartered by "Mr. Chum" I believe and I was a walk-on, good group that worked well together even though several passengers were greenhorns.

Bunk room was a little warm, but other than that no complaints at all.

I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Things may have changed but two of my worse experiences have been on this boat. These trips were also out of long beach, not sure if it makes a difference in crew. I'm sure you could still catch fish on the eldo but I wouldn't bank on it.

Why don't you guys say what your problems were with the boat?

It's not useful at all to call out any business anywhere without saying why they do a poor job.

I felt it was a bit hot in the bunk area and kept waking up in the middle of the night

This is one of those boats that opinions vary on. I had a great trip a month ago. There have been too many bad reports to say it was unrealistic expectations on the poster part though. So if it is the only boat I say go. If there are other options think about it.

The boat is ok. it is relatively comfortable and roomy. I believe they are starting to put some money back into her to bring her back to relevance. However when it comes to fishing, they seem to be always off the mark. The numbers are always relatively lower that any other boat fishing same areas for same species. That pertains to both Long beach and San Diego departures.

Yes. As all have indicated its hit or miss. Although in my opinion, you spend your hard earned money and it should be hit not miss. :) The boat itself is good, but the crew and captain are what ruined it for me.

Fished this boat on Thursday after our charter on the First String got screwed when an engine went down and the El Dorado was the only boat with any room. 12 out of 36 on our charter went out on the boat and we caught fish with more than half of the people on board with rental rods. I'd definitely fish the boat again.

To give you some things I thought were cool about Eldorado.

There were 2 cooks and they didn't care if you covered your food to go take advantage of the hot bite, they were more than willing to offer some aluminum foil and let you go catch your fish. I've been on boats that would toss your breakfast/lunch if you left it or if you asked they'd say no eat it now.

Another thing, breakfast was served until way late in the morning; same with lunch. One day I got a chicken quesadilla around 2:30 without any bitching that the grill was already cleaned. One night was steak, the other lasagna.

I really appreciated not being rushed to eat. A+

I liked the way the boat fished/drifted, there were 29 of us (iirc) and not too many clusterfks, of course there were a couple "those guys", but when aren't there...

Bunks were warm, hopefully they intend to get better circulation down below, I could feel the a/c, just not much distribution of it.

GO FISH, season isn't going to last forever.
