Any family-type or father/son charters in 2023 with openings?

    Someday...
I’d like to introduce my 9 year old son to offshore fishing. He has been on a few 1/2 and 3/4 day trips, has always done well and has good sea legs for his age.

I also have a friend with a 9 year old son. They are both just getting into fishing and did a few 3/4 day trips this season. They did well and have both shown pretty good sea legs, as well.

I’m afraid an open party wouldn’t be the right atmosphere, so was hoping to find a charter group with similar interests. Are there any 1.5-2.5 day charters that would be suited for introducing younger kids to tuna fishing?

I know it’s a long shot but figured I’d ask.

    Thanks!

The Condor has a 2 day limited load trip leading up to Fathers Day that could be a good match. I would suggest to look for limited load trips to give your son more rail space.

Take him on a true long range boat for 3-5 days. Next year do the 5 day after Christmas trips, There very affordable are Introductory trips for people to try it out for almost 1/2 the cost of a 5 dayer in the summer.

The Searcher has a 2 day leaving on the 4th of July with a few openings. Total spots on the boat is 24. I have found the crew to be mellow and very accommodating, no yelling if you screw up.

I've never heard of any charters specific to father/son fishing but yall could look into doing a 6 pack charter maybe find another father/son pair to go in. Then yall are really calling the shots and the crew can better cater to your needs and preferences
