I'm taking my landlocked uncles and cousin out crabbing for the next few days. If it does open, will somebody call me so we can hit it up? I won't have any way to check the net. I love to get them into a hali and ling while they are here (since the tunas haven't arrived yet).

Tommy are you staying on C dock? I'll stop by and say hi if we're around long. We're usually in and out and don't stick around since we're running out of Port Angeles.

We are in C11. When you say running from PA...you mean trailering to Neah and launching right? Do you just make a day run and don't stay in Neah?

Just heard July 26th (Sat) will be open for near shore Halibut. The Fri before or the Mon after the 26th may also be open. Hope this is true. Has anyone one else heard anything about this???

Tommy, my buddy's parents have a farm in the PA area. On the property we have a shop for the boats. We make day runs typically out of Neah Bay only because the fishery is open on Saturdays, but have considered leaving the boat overnight, although unattended.
We'll fish Neah Bay on Saturday and then switch to Sekiu on Sunday to continue the hunt. Or we'll pull the 15 footer out and launch at Freshwater Bay for the day.

just talked to [email protected] and they said the nearshore fishery will open in areas 3 and 4 for saturday july 26 and then maybe another nearshore day later on, probably not one for the offshore fishery though.

no, I think it's under 30fathoms, the straits would probably be your best bet.

I didn't touch a halibut while bottomfishing this weekend, what's the chance that the fish have moved out? I did stop by Sekiu on the way home and saw that a few folks were catching them out in front and off the usual spots. I'm a little nervous about my ability to catch another in 30 fathoms or less.
