Teachers should be strapped trained with a weapon and at least paid double what they are now, where is all the lottery money Promised to help all the schools? So far all I’ve seen from the lottery is it’s ruined a lot of peoples lives making way too much money when it could be put elsewhere to good use. In the 70s and 80s we had wood shop plastics automotive and welding at our schools without the lottery , Every teacher I know doesn’t do it for the money but for the satisfaction of watching the children grow and for that fact alone they should be Compensated well. If I was dropping my kid off at school or childcare at this day and age it would satisfy my soul to know that the teachers are trained and strapped for these types of situations.

I find it interesting that the same group who doesn't trust teachers to come up with their own lesson plans want to trust then with guns.

What could possibly go wrong?

Yup there are some good guys with guns.

If more guns = more safety, why isn't the US the safest country on the planet?
That works both ways.If more gun laws = more safety why aren't the states and cities with the strictest gun laws safer than other areas ?

If there are no guns allowed in Mexico then why isn’t it the safest country on the planet? Wasn’t Tijuana considered the most dangerous city in the world recently? According to your logic, it would be the safest since you’re not allowed to have guns

Just pointing out the failed logic of

    More guns = more safety

Yes, pay them more, but teachers are not cops and do not want to be. It is not their responsibility to solve this issue. Sure maybe some of them would feel comfortable having a firearm in the classroom, but I bet the 99% would change professions if that became the expectation.

There are more guns and it’s safer than other countries with no guns policy. I can see why you wouldn’t like to address my point of Mexico.
America is also less safe than some countries with no gun policies... making your point invalid

My point is not invalid, you’re ignoring the facts that the top ten most dangerous cities in the world are NOT in the US, and have strict no gun policies.
The safest cities also have no gun policies. Which renders your point moot. Whether you like it or not

So safe to say guns have nothing to do with the safety of a country? Since we both just showed contradictory statistics?
I think it depends on other factors... corruption, wealth.

There is definitely a correlation in the US between high gun ownership rate, shootings, and violent crime.
