Well went on my friends boat and headed out to the not so secret spot to fish for them bluefin. Didn't have crazy expectations but just wanted to get a blue

Showed up and wow find your parking stall, we went a bit south and started our drift and no bite till about 8:30. Score one for the boat were are on the board and get at least 2 more 1 for each.

Reset our drift meter fish and nothing for quite awhile.

So we observed the sports boats and noticed they were all anchored and in line.

So we go just outside of them and away and WOW as if someone turned the switch on. We were bit instantly and consistently

At times we had doubles and triples. It was chaos who should get their fish in first? Who would gaff. It was like this for about 3 hours

We ended up with out limit on 80-100+ lb grade fish had a really great hook and land ratio

What we used and what worked
We realized anchor up and watch the meter marks.

Macks were the hot ticket instant bites but than a good done got bit well too

Use a small hook such as a size 2 I was using VMC DYNAMIC and gamakatsu hooks

Short top shot of 40 got bit well but be ready for a rodeo they were mean fish I highly recommend 50-60

I stepped up and used my super seeker 70XH makaira 10 with 65lb spectra and 3' top shot pink yo zuri tied with an FG knot spectra to flouro and a Spangler knot to the hook

Also don't be afraid to use higher drags and pull hard I mean pull

At one point i buttoned down the tranx and horsed the fish in and his lucky day we released it

Great report!!! Nice BFT Bloody Mary!!! In 350 I would recommend 1000 rule is 2/3 again the depth. Due to scoping line.
