    Hey guys,

Awhile back fellow BDer "Joker" invited me to fill in on a charter trip with the "Dark Kings" fishing club. We would be fishing on the Aloha Spirit so I was happy to have an opportunity to fish with Capt Shawn Steward.
Woke up this morning to full on RAIN ! I packed my rain suit and headed over to the landing. I knew the forecast was supposed to clear up but it was raining so hard I was still a little nervous. Luckily by the time I got to the landing, things were dried out with cloudy skies. I met up with Danny (Joker) and the rest of the guys. Everyone was very welcoming and made me feel right at home. We loaded the boat with 21 guys and headed out with a nice load of 4" sardines.
On deck we had Angel and Kelly and in the galley Anna was hooking up some great grub. Shawn called us together and said we would be fishing along the coast for bass and whatever else we could find. So we made a left and settled in for the ride. 20181013_092358.jpg

Soon we arrived at our first spot and dropped the hook. The bass were home and wanted to play.

The bass were biting the dines as well as plastic swim baits and hookup baits. Bites were plentiful and with some work we were putting some legals in the boat. There were also a few random Whitefish, Johnny Bass, and Brown Rockfish coming up.

20181013_112400.jpg We fished multiple spots throughout the day and had to dodge some pesky seals but every spot produced some fish. As the day went on, the weather got better and so did the beer (I mean fishing). Every now and then we were rewarded with some nicer models.

Everyone caught fish and I think we ended up with 90+ bass along with the other misc fish. Most of all, it was a great day on the water with some great people. Charter master Jen did a great job setting up the trip and making everyone feel welcome. "You need a beer?" 20181013_140121.jpg
Shawn did a great job putting us on the fish. Kelly and Angel were on top of the deck at all times. And Anna was tearing it up in the galley with some great eats. I only used one outfit all day. Calstar GF 800L /Penn Fathom 12/Izorline Flouro (20lb)/Size 1/0 hook with 1/8th oz. Slider.

So hats off to the Aloha Spirit and the Dark Kings. Thanks again for the invite Danny and I hope to have the pleasure to fish with you guys again.

    Take Care :D

That's my kind of trip. No crossing channel, just exploring coastline areas.
New friends. Looks like a great day.
