First time posting here so I will keep it short so I don’t embarrass myself

Went out on the Aloha Spirit today out of Channel Islands. Captain Pat was the man with the plan today. Start at Anacapa and see what we could find, if it was a bust rockfish for a little bit as we head to Santa Cruz.

Anacapa was very little show and NO go.
So we caught some tacos and headed across the channel to Santa Cruz with high hopes

It took some time to find the school(s) of fish and getting them to bite took just as much effort. The ocean was not as friendly at Santa cruz in early afternoon, but it was manageable after a couple beers during the long move over.
I was fortunate enough to get the first bite on our first stop and it was a freight train. The crew was top notch guiding me around the boat 1.5 times and 15 minutes later I landed a 60 lb White Sea bass

The boat caught two more 35-45 range and several halibut.

All in all a great day.
If you are ever considering fishing out of Channel Islands and the Aloha Spirit has open spots jump on it.

I threw in a BD salute for those that want Photos

Can you be more specific on where you guys found the school at Cruz, not asking for coordinates, just in general. Front or back side? Chinese, Yellowbanks, Willows, Kristys ?
