After selling my last boat, I started a pretty expansive search for the next one. I began looking at smaller boats and had accepted offers on a few. Even jumped on a couple flights for sea trials. Really wasn't happy with anything.

Eventually I narrowed my search down to a 31 Cabo Express, but then found a very hot boat market. Finally pulled the trigger on a boat that needed some work to bring it up to my standards, but was in good shape where it counts.

She is probably 60% of the way to being where I need her to be. Hoping to be able to take her offshore in the next couple weeks (crossing my fingers).

A few crappy cell phone pics:

Looks awesome, you have some before pics? Father in law somehow got the idea of completely refinishing an older family boat. I don't think he understands the first bit of boat work.

Looks awesome and given your track record should be covered in blood in no time. Are you keeping the outriggers? Those things are a jig caster's nightmare...

I am not keeping the center rigger. I probably don't need the port and starboard riggers, but honestly I don't think they get in the way of jig casting, and if and when I ever sell this thing, the new owner might want them.

Looking good. You will be happy with that. Keep the riggers, they don t get in the way and I use them often. Great boat for chasing late season Marlin.

If I his warm water continues you might need those riggers to troll blue marlin this fall. Love the lines of your new rig!
