Not sure the Idaho Potato Bowl is much of a "destiny".:D
Pac 12 championship and rose bowl are not too bad. They hold the tie breaker over utah. Of course they probably will be thumped in the championship and the potato bowl may be accurate.

Unlike Utah, SC controls its own destiny. Too bad about Stanford.
USC still has to play at Oregon, then UCLA at home. They will lose to Oregon. They barely escaped against Colorado.

USC's biggest problem is a lack of consistency, but they do seem to do their best with the fear of God in them. Also, I don't think you can compare pre-Sark with post. Since Oregon beat Stanford, USC will take that thereat very seriously.

With a healthy Vernon Adams at QB, Oregon is a different team. Utah was lucky to catch Oregon with Adams injured. USC plays Oregon at Autzen.

I went 5 of 6 on my PAC 12 picks. You can guess which one I missed. USC almost made it 4 of 6.

Oregon straight beat a good Stanford team. And Nomad hit it, consistency. When they beat Utah they played like a team possessed, then kinda' looked not so great at times since. Going to be a wild ride.

I watched the 60 minute version of the Oregon vs Stanford game. Very little passing by Oregon. Mostly power run game ala Stanford. Stanford killed itself with two fumbles on the snap. Should not be seeing that stuff at this point in the season.

All sorts of doom and gloom articles on the PAC 12 now likely out of the CFP. That's what happens when you've got parity in the Conference and a 9 game Conference Schedule. You are now seeing teams that were hit by injuries early getting somewhat healthy and playing better. Whereas other teams are being wracked with injuries and face their most important games.

USC has done well and been lucky to come away with wins the last two weekends. Luck won't be enough to beat Oregon or UCLA but with our injuries mounting, I'm proud of how they've played the last couple of weeks. And who knows, maybe they'll really up their game and pull off two wins.

That's called 2nd place. If USC loses twice, well at least they had the opportunity that 'others' blew... 3 times.

At least USC is still playing.
SC is getting pushed around badly by Stanford. Stanford is bringing a pure power game and SC can't answer with their finesse game.

Need Stanford to trounce USC and North Carolina to beat Clemson to get Stanford into the CFP and pull the other PAC 12 teams up into better bows. If not, rumors have Utah stuck in the Vegas Bowl playing BYU.

Well, Utah beating BYU is always a good thing. But, considering that they have the best record in the South I'd hope for better.

I was hoping for a couple upsets that didn't happen for my Buckeyes to get another shot at the title. I hope MSU makes the big 10 proud now. I was actually hoping for USC to win (for the first time ever in my life ).

Well this season showed that there is a lot of parity in the CFB. Can anyone honestly say that Clemson would be a certain favorite to beat Stanford? Oklahoma or Michigan St certain favorites to beat Stanford? I couldn't.

The Big 12 whined last year because they were left out for not having a Conference Championship Game. This year Oklahoma will be in because largely because of the safety afforded by the Big 12 not having a Conference Championship Game.

Alabama does have the 4th ranked Strength of Schedule (SOS) per Sagarin, so I'll give the their CFP spot.

Look at the SOS for the teams in Sagarin's top 30:
PAC 12: Stanford (14), USC (3), Oregon (24), Utah (26), UCLA (28).
SEC: Alabama (4), Mississippi (22), Tennessee (32), LSU (9), Florida (29), Arkansas (8), Mississippi St (28)
BIG 10: Ohio St (61), Michigan St (44), Michigan (43), Wisconsin (70), Iowa (57).
ACC: Clemson (42), Florida St (58), North Carolina (63).
BIG 12: Oklahoma (19), TCU (36), Oklahoma St (39), West Virginia (40) and Baylor (59).

Without even calculating an average for each Conference, pretty clear the strongest Conferences are the SEC and the PAC 12 and it's not even close. But the SEC plays an 8 game Conference Schedule while the PAC 12 plays a 9 game Conference Schedule. At least the BIG 10 is moving to a 9 game Conference Schedule.

Just shows that with a 4 team playoff, the system is still far from perfect. It's still a beauty pageant with an eyeball test. The contestant with a nice rack and beautiful smile can sashay their way in at the end. They need to go to an 8 team playoff and only accept Power 5 Conference Champions and the 3 highest rated Conference Champions from the Group of 5 Conferences. Eliminate the Schedule polishing by setting common standards by which Conferences must schedule by (i.e. 9 Conference Games, OOC schedules with no FCS teams, 1 away game minimum 1 time zone difference or equivalent north/south difference, etc.).

I just pray they rank Ohio state, over Iowa due to schedule strength, and that way I can buy some Rose Bowl tickets to watch the Buckeyes!

Here is how I think things will eventually play out: There will be 4 super conferences, each composed of 16 teams. Each conference will have two divisions and a conference championship game. The four conference winners will enter the national championship playoffs.

It may take a while to get to this point, though. I should also point out that I first heard this proposed by Steve Hartman on the radio a few years ago.

OU will probably win it all! Just don't want the Tide to win it again...my Trojans, well maybe next year..the Iowa game was awesome..I wish OU was getting the Tide, 2 vs. 3, and wonder if that intentional that they are not?

I'd have ranked them Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Michigan State sine bama would probably beat the other 3, OU would beat the other 2 and Clemson would beat Mich St. Michigan State is the weakest of the bunch but hey, that's why they play the games. I never would've picked Ohio State last year.
