Guys, a quick heads up. Today at work after checking out BD I went to my usual PORNHUB and XVIDEOS sites and they were WAY slower than usual. Frustratingly slow... Somehow the changes you guys made screwed that up too. Could you guys fix that? I think this issue would be more important than the colors and brightness issues.

Thanks!!

If your photo file is too big, you cannot upload it. (Common on a lot of forums)

I use an IOS image re-sizer APP called “image size”.

Developer website...

They also have a batch image resizer.

Nope
It is Saturday 1/18 and problems 1-4 still remain; I hope that the BD powers that be still have addressing them on the "TO DO" list.

I too think that the stark white and strong colors are too jarring on the eyes, but I have a bigger problem.

On two separate computers on two separate networks (work and home) both running Firefox, I consistently have the following problems on multiple attempts:

1) Even if I login and check the "stay logged in" box, often it doesn't logged in

2) When I click the "New Posts", I get 100+ pages

3) If I scroll through those "New Posts", they are wildly out of chronological order and of course contain many entries that aren't new at all

4) Clicking the "Mark All As Read" doesn't do anything, a click seconds later on "New Posts" again yields 100 pages of threads.

5) Often the same thread text appears on multiple thread titles

6) Members' locations no longer appears next to their name and avatar; this makes it hard to decide if its worth investigating items for sale--readers can't tell if someone is local or hundreds of miles away.

Those are the problems, and currently the site is near unusable. It took me 15 minutes to find this thread to post my comments (hopefully helpful).

This is not a bug report, but a suggestion.

Put a reply timer alert of 12 months. If someone clicks reply, have a popup display that they are replying to a thread that is xx months old, are you sure you want to continue?

Classified section. No longer displays owners location difficult. Please adjust to allow location to be visible. (Important because no one currently lists location with their posts)

Search function is broken, is not able to select individual forums. For example I’m looking to purchase a black steel 270h and I cant narrow my search to “just” classifieds section.

I do like that it’s mobile friendly. Thank you for that!!!!!!!! NoW i can “bdoutdoors” anywhere.

A constructive criticism of the new site software.....

In iOS (IPhone in my case), If you create a link to bdoutdoors.com on your home screen then use that icon thereafter to view fishing reports, etc, Safari is put into 'web app' mode whereby Safari hides the address bar at the top and the navigation bar at the bottom. This effectively cripples navigation because the back/forward buttons are no longer available and you can't refresh the page. So imagine launching BD via this link, viewing one topic, then being unable to hit a back button to get back to the first screen. Further, because the app is in 'web app' mode, if you go back to the iOS home screen and hit the BD icon again (say, one day later) the page does not auto refresh. You must kill Safari to refresh the page contents and start from the original page you intended.

This is all caused by the new software enabling the 'apple-mobile-web-app-capable' element (https://developer.apple.com/library...bApplications/ConfiguringWebApplications.html) which tells Safari that the web page will handle all UI navigation. Trouble is, it doesn't.

The only way to work around this as a user is to manually open Safari, then navigate to bdoutdoors.com or save a bookmark. Hate to bitch about the new software -- I really like the idea of a mobile first experience and support your desire to update -- but this 'feature' is absolutely infuriating.

@Jason -- could you please remove the 'apple-mobile-web-app-capable' element from the new software? Try placing an iOS home screen link to bdoutdoors.com and use the site. You'll quickly get frustrated trying to simply go back/forward and refresh.

iFish.net does this same thing. Super annoying. I eventually gave up on the site.

The developers are reading this thread. Did they fix it or am I not seeing something? Arrows work fine and I started from a home screen button I just remade ( I always use homescreen buttons for sites...)

This was caused by BD being down. All the members were on "other" sites.
