I forgot what type it was. I know its not Mahogany. I will try find out on Monday. Purchased it from plywood Hawaii out here on Oahu. Not too sure if you folks got a wood outlet up there. But you would want something that is tightly pressed so that you will not have alot of voids to suck up alot of resin. What size is your boat you rebuilding if I may ask? Shootz. Aloha.

I got 2 20 Gallon Moeller tanks. Picked them up from West Marine. There are numerous sizes for 20 Gallons. Just gotta see which one is best for your setup. Good Luck. Keep us posted with some pics. Aloha.

howzit travis, u get any updates on your build? im just about ready to start digging in to my alii kai and rebuild it along with a building a full cab too. did you end up filling your hull back up with foam or just glassed in air pockets. I know my alii kai as it sits now has no foam in the hull which leads me to think the guys i bought it from yanked it all when the box and ikima we made. also did you do any work to your transom and did you run your bulkheads clear all the way up the entire length of the hull or just shy of the bow n squared off??? aloha

I squared off bulkheads same as existing ones were. Just replaced it. Filled the hull with foam. Not as much as originally was. Maybe about 3/4 of original. Transom I injected it with resin to fill voids. Progress been kind of slow lately with kids activities. Been crankin on it alot more recently. Hopefully will get it painted and webbed this week. Will post pics as soon as done. Aloha

Looking good. Be ready to splatter blood all over soon. How long after the gel coat did you splatter? Did you roll or spray the gel coat on?

I rolled the white on then sprayed the teal and grey with spray gun and webbing solution. Not exactly how I pictured it but I guess its okay for first splatter job.

I sprayed the teal and grey maybe about couple hours later. Wanted it to adhere to the white while it was still tacky.

Thanks. Yah I think it needs to be splattered while tacky to adhere, wasn't sure. Looks good. What type of paint did you spray? I need to do some work on the outside of mine as well. I patched some cut throughs and holes.

Used Polyurethane paint from West Marine. Then I rolled and tipped. Now jus need to seal and buff.

Not on this boat but if you read "At it again," you'll see the stringers that I made. They're made out of marine ply. Two 3/4" ply going opposite glued with TiTe bond III which is waterproof, clamped and screwed. Once cured, the screws were removed and when mounted the holes were filled with thickened resin. Good luck with the build and post it on here. Aloha

The stringers I used were one piece. Got it from Plywood Hawaii in Mapunapuna. They have them in different lengths and sizes. I think the ones I got were 2 x 9 and shaped them myself. Good luck with your build.

Thanks for the info! Went there today to get my marine ply. Cheaper than hardware hawaii
