Howdy, been on the hunt for a lower end. I have a 2007 Yamaha f250 txr 25 in shaft with dual water pick up standard rotation. Has anyone had any experience with any after market lower units? I been looking for a decent used Yamaha but can't find any. If so what company have you had gd quality lower ends. I see some use Yamaha internals where they can.but are these as gd. Thanks. If anyone has one let me know.

Most are garbage. I had an SEI that lasted less than 100 hours. Just buy the replacement the brand recomends and you'll actually save money and have more days on the water.

SEI did warranty it. But shipping is expensive and the time out of the water and installation really makes it more "expensive" than just getting something reliable.

Well, I was looking at quality outdrives and OBR outdrives website. They say they use OEM parts where needed and aftermarket elsewhere. 100% American made..I don't mind spending the $4k for new one But if any of the new aftermarket units are decent I can go that route and still order my trolling motor. I know you get what you pay for, but expensive doesn't always mean better. Just curious if anyone has used and and if any are worth saving couple grand.

I had a lower from SEI on my 225 Optimax and it worked great, had zero issues with it. Just make sure you follow the break in process and you will be good. Have put over 300 hours on it since installed.

Did you get it from SEI or another company with aftermarket SEI lower.

This popped up. Still waiting for a reply on year ect. I see it has the manufacturers part number but not sure if it's the right one. He just stated it's a used in great shape 25in shaft lower. Doesn't state motor size.

We have an SEI on our 6500 pound (3.0 liter alpha 1 gen 2) double decker pontoon rental boat... It gets worked hard a an average 200 days a year and no issues in almost 3 years... IMO it is a little louder than the original unit

I went ahead and bought the used lower on eBay. Offered $1200 and he accepted. Crawley marine has OEM remanufactured lower units for $2000+ change, shipping ect. The seller says it's in great shape and has 100% feedback. I think I'll have it serviced up. Should be gd to go. Thanks for all replies b
