I tried mine last fall but the wahoo were fairly scarce most of the trip and I didn’t connect while using it. Mike Nall said he nailed several with it and liked it.

I caught several on my Tern 500 in November. Very smooth drags.

I've caught Wahoo on a DX2-400 fishing bait so a 600XN would work really well, it’s about the same size as an Avet JX or Talica 12 so load it up with 65# spectra and a 50# leader and bombs away. Sure don’t need 2 speeds on a wahoo reel and speed kills! Hell, I almost caught one on a BV-300 but someone else tangled up and thought he was on the fish... doh!

I picked one up specifically for fishing wahoo bombs/jigs and it's proved to solid. I am able to crank after the strike. No binding.
It also proved to work very well for yo-yo yellow tailing.
65 powerpro to short 50lb mono topshot.
Overall I'm very satisfied with this reel
It's like a Trinidad 40N only lighter.

I caught a couple Wahoo last month on the Tern 600XN. The reel is very fast, the bomb really hauls ass in the water. Very smooth and great drags.

The negative is you loose a little power with the single speed 6:1 and the longer handle when fighting the fish. No big deal though.

I love my Tern and recommend it.

I have two we used in October specifically set up for wahoo bombs and jigs. Hands down the best wahoo job reel I’ve used. Rigged em with 80lb solid pro spec rp’d to four feet of 130 flouro. Wahoo was wide open limit style fishing so lots of opportunity to test em. Like was said above you can actually grind through the bite easier then anything else I’ve used and I’ve gone thru lots of reels looking for “the one”. The 500’s were also good but being a shorter spool they required a bit more work to move the lure as fast as the 53” per turn 600xn. Hope this helps

I don’t use the Narrow as personally I don’t like them. I do however have the standard Tern 600 and caught 4 on it 2 days ago. Great reel in my opinion. I swapped the knob out for the traditional rubber handle.

If you’re a fan of Narrow sized reels, which many people are, I’d say buy one, they’re awesome.

I did forget to mention In my first post that I changed the knobs to the rubber egg knob and prefer it on all my accurates minus the ATD’s. The round knob it comes with I end up with blisters where the holes are after a long day of winding.
