So work has really put a huge damper on water time the last 2.5 weeks, and June is really jammed up, SO needed to go when can.

Eric and I pushed off Friday morning hunting for the dream. Not much to report, Kai'Nana did get her first Ono for the year... Me likey some ono.

Andrew and Mike joined me down at the boat around 4:45 Saturday morning. Based on some of the sites from Friday we headed back up towards CO. Plenty piles, but never could buy a bite. Decided to head towards the pinnacle, was gonna head outside and then slide down onto the pinnacle. See some birds off on the horizon so head it straight out, see a few whites and matoris; maybe a 1/3 of a mile from the pile the port riggers goes, oh that lovely sound of the clicker reaching critical speed.

Andrew is up, he knows the drill, Mike and I clear lines, Andrew is to keep the line tight, that was not a problem. Take Kai'Nana out of gear. the fish made a good initial run, but isn't giving us too much trouble. We take her off of the port side, I'll leader, Mike to gaff and it went just like it was supposed too. Chee!!!

Gutted and iced, her egg sac is ready to bust, ginormous. She was mostly empty, had a couple small critters in her tummy. Just after we get her iced make a pass on the pile and get an almost nintendo. Still out 20, happy with what we got, so we head it to the barn.

Andrew is here visiting his parent, flew in from New York, pretty stoked to get him some ahi...

    Cheers

Thanks Conor, the body count is way too low, especially considering you and I started the season early in March.

    Cheers
