Been trying to get this on here for a bit now, but I have been running into hurdles along the way. Been trying to get away from YouTube, but BD is not ready to "Rumble" yet. Got some pretty good action back in the end of November (at least on the camera). The video is from 2 consecutive days, but most of it from the second day when I adjusted the camera angle up to see the fish better. Tiny bait the first day and tangled bait the second day made for no bites. Although a bite on the tangle day would have probably been disastrous.

Your fish finder should be lit. I want to switch to rumble also. What issues are you having?

Do you think that noise and/or camera rig is what's keeping they yellows from approaching your mac?
In a situation like that have you pulled the camera and tried just a bait to see if they would bite?

Been there. I have thrown hot macs at surface yellows tons of times and they just look at it like it's cabbage. I tried all the way down to #20 line in 20' of fluorocarbon and when they don't care, they don't care. On the flip side I have thrown hot macs on #80 with only 5' of fluorocarbon in the same region and conditions and BOOM! That's fishing. I guess you just gotta buy a gun.

Never filmed yellows but I can tell you that halibut not only dont care but were sticking their face in the camera lens..
If people knew how often and how many fish come look at their bait and swim off they would be flimflammed...
Its why the art of presentation is invaluable and why a few guys catch the most fish..

Greg, you single handly got me into kayak fishing. I now own a boat and sold the yak, but it was your following that got me on the kayak years ago. I was able to dial in my electronics and the jewel. Thanks for the good content brother.

Don't think the noise makes a bit of difference, but the hardware probably does to some extent. To me the video is the important part, catching another YT is just icing (although it does add something to the video).

Very cool video, a lot of yellowtails but it had no interest on your sardine. Where is this?

What camera do you use? I was looking at a gofish at LB Fred Hall (in March just before this covid crazyness), but have not pulled the trigger yet. Your video inspired me. Wild how they just look at the mac as if it was a piece of kelp! Thanks!

Super cool video!

It's enough to piss off the Good Humor man, Mr. Rodgers and Capt. Kangaroo that those yellows have lock jaw right next to your bait.

One of the most beautiful sights in California spearfishing is seeing a school of slug yellows wafting through the kelp stringers at SBI.

Thanks for sharing
