Having problems putting lobster trips together so decided to go solo. When I was in my 50's not such a big deal, in my 60's its more of a challenge/arthritis. Left Mission bay and ran down to SD bay dropping hoops with tubes of fresh sardine right at sundown. Got two legals, the biggest, first pull in about 50 feet then struggled till the third pull getting one in about 40 feet. Fourth pull got 3 in about 40 feet and the current dropped off. Worked one more pull for nada and my shoulder said it was done and time to go so packed up and ran back to Mission Bay at 11:45. Long day for two stingrays, two thornback rays, one rock crab, 14 Whelks, 24 shorts and 6 nice bugs. One bug was just legal and the rest well over to about 3/4" over legal. Weather was awesome go get some.

I feel you my brother. Seeing that sunset reminds me why I go out there.

I feel your pain (literally) I'm a couple months short of 60, did my only overnight trip of the year at Cat 2 weeks ago, no hooping involved, can't even get a feel for how only 9 years ago I was setting and pulling until 2 AM or later without issue.

It's a shock how fast you can get bitch slapped into slow-mode !

Cool you got out and managed 6 legals.
Same as Hank, if you need a partner hit me up.
I've only got 4 legals for the year so far.

Not quite at the 60 mark yet but I heard it calling last time I was pulling. LOL

But you said screw it and went solo. Good job on getting em!
