Quick report for you guys lookin to stay close for a chance at some Ahi. Left Misssion bay a little after noon hoping to find the same life we saw monday coming back from the 226. We drew a line to my numbers from monday and it was the same deal, bait with terns on it.
We worked different spots draggin a couple feathers and an xrap for nada, kept working North up the ridge for a bit and spot some pourpopise in the distance and work toward them, as we get closer they are really puttin on a show.
This was a massive school (in the thousands) one of the biggest i have seen in a while. Some Whales in the mix as well, just awsome to watch this congregation of life. Just as my buddy Brian and i are talking a bout how amazing it is we never snag these guys by accident the black and purple feather goes of. A couple minutes later a 12 lb Yft is aboard, just a cool bite amongst that much life.
Continue on the troll and we start seeing breaking fish turns into a foamer and we slide up on it and both of our megabaits land right into it, but no biters.
We could see the yft dartin around, a little frustrating but exciting. Saw a couple more spots like this, they were crushing the sauries on top. Anyway, the fish are there, and close. go getem before there gone. (good talkin with you Mark)
