I haven’t posted a trip in a while so here goes. Looking for new faces to fish with mid week, I took my friend and neighbor Greg fishing today. We hit Izor’s in the gray for only three fish. We bounced around from rock to rock till we found THE ONE. Every fish was over two pounds, many were over three and maybe six were over 4. There were two SERIOUS bitch slappings. The fish were very aggressive and we lost a bunch of swimbaits today. Good thing I know someone lol.

Nearly all my fish came on a Curado 200DHSV and a GUSA 83M noodle (compared to what I’m used to) rod. Nice setup. Bitch slappings are gonna happen, but that’s what you sign up for when you fish light gear.

We bagged it at noon with thirtysomething bass, nearly all sandies. I think it’s best to give a noob an early half-day success rather than kill him with one of my marathons.

We met a couple (hot wife/girlfriend!) who said they had WFO Barries at the inner rig.

Anyways, we didn’t sink the boat or get arrested or towed. It was a great day on the water with a longtime friend who wants to learn the ropes. Greg is a geezer like me and we rocked out to Joe Jackson the whole way home.

Word of warning: The Coasties were blowing up 16 today warning of big honking winds at SCI this weekend. You cow hunters be safe.

Some hefty inshore bass. And remember to "Look Sharp". Joe Jackson rocks. I need to add some JJ to my fishing tunes list.

Looked like a easy going fishing day.
Back home early and not beat up by a long day on the water.
That a good day to me.

Great report Kurt...Now I'm kicking myself that I passed on going out today. Last weekend we got our butts kicked so I'm giving my back a rest.

Going again tomorrow (Sunday). Was hoping to drag the boat down to Oceanside and head west, but the stars aren’t aligning. I need a (new face) mid week partner to fish offshore.
