Left sd bait barge at 530 with my buddy after a busy morning replacing my bait pump after it died half way to the bait barge. No biggie had a spare in my truck so turned around and 20 min later we are back in action. Picked up an incredible scoop of bait ( best of the year for me)and off to the secret tuna grounds.

We were greeted with flat calm seas and were able to get down to the zone in short order. Found some fish up about a mile outside one of the many fleets and put 2 on the boat with the popper. These fish had no interest in bait so we moved on. 20180928_173846.jpg we stopped on some good marks outside one of the fleets and started chunking. Took a little bit to get the fish up but after we did it was game on. 20lb got bit best and throwing 4 or 5 pieces before you threw your bait out was key to an easy bite. Never got bit on a long soak. We went 8 for 8 all on bait. Best part is we caught zero skipjack. Good luck to those going tomorrow. 20180928_174014.jpg 20180928_143151.jpg

Haven't heard that in a while.

Always like the display on the tailgate longboard85. 8 for 8 is a great day! No regrets.

Chum is the name of the game good report. I threw a popper right through boils and nothing. I just wanted to get one on the new tranx 500. Is that so much to ask. It’s going to be down right nuts tomorrow. Good thing I’m waiting until Sunday!

Well done. Yeah the bait was feisty and strong, only had a few die all day. Best bait all year for me also. Glad you got good conditions, it was a little lumpy when i was out. Good job. Aloha
