Well that's some entertainment with 89. The trip should make the memory bank

Out of Oceanside. I went on a 1/2 day boat twilight session when the sand bass were really biting crazy. I think the boat had over 100 people.

Caught the largest sand bass of my life. Maybe record size. Hooked it in the very bow and landed the sand bass in the stern LOL and this sand bass of gargancious size. The deckhand put this bass into the wrong sack and I never got my giant bass back.

Apparently it was the other dudes :D and it was fkn huge. I was like 14 and the guy wouldn't give it back to me LOL and I didnt have any parent supervision

    Chad...

    Slow your roll, my man.

You are definitely right about fishing on a Friday and chasing the bite from yesterday...BUT,

I don’t see any slandering going on here, and that’s a pretty heavy accusation towards someone and also illegal. The OP merely stated his opinion on how much it sucks to fish on a sportie with 89 people and I don’t think anyone on this board would argue that point. He said absolutely nothing about the captain, crew or the landing.

The OP said NOTHING to try to “ruin someone’s lively hood”

FYI...I’ve fished with 22nd St and know the owners and almost all the captains personally for over 30 years. I’m only saying that to show you that I’ve got the back of these Skippers.

I can remember many, many trips...going out the day after a hot bite, with anglers shoulder to shoulder all the way to the bow and back...and getting Zero fish on the boat. I can remember many many other trips hooking quality fish and losing them, because of all the rookies on the packed boat as well. I can also remember tons of extremely memorable trips, which is the reason why I still fits so much today. The sports boat are great for what they are, but at times they are Catlle boats and it is what it is. Myself and other old-timers on here, could go on and on and on ...

I will also say this...many landings and certain boats will not post counts on a bad day and even when they do post a count, they will frequently leave the number of anglers off. It’s a shitty game they play and ultimately you should do business with the landings that are upfront. If a landing or a boat loses its reputation, they will lose business in the long run.

Bottom line: No need to go after the original poster here, as he’s done absolutely nothing wrong in my opinion.

    Tights lines brother.

This Trump style discussion leads me to believe that only my beliefs are correct: " Education is the key to overcoming ignorance and a 2 x 4 is the only solution to stupidity"....now, the only question is: which category am I in this discussion???

As I might not get as much fishing time in as I'd want, I'd also like to know, how was the burger?

It wasn’t overbooked... website says 90 is the load. People show up out of the wood works all of the time. It’s about as fair to the boat as it is to the people that actually made reservations. You think the galley cook shops for 90 people when 17 are signed up the night before? Haha Then again this is all coming from someone who doesn’t know any better.

Ps... I was the guy in the wheelhouse in this photo 4 years ago.

When the boat runs every day the galley should be stocked like all the other boats. Good for you in the wheel house, am I suppose to be impressed??

And the not knowing any better comment wasn’t directed towards yourself in the OP. It was directed towards myself.

I hope next time it's 98 people on that boat and every other cattle boat. Maybe some new boats will come around with better captains and crew who won't let shit like that happen.

Man that's a packed boat! I'm a newbie and have fished the NS twice in the last month. Each time had 40-50 people on-board and that seemed busy. The captain puts us on fish and the crew always helps out. Still trying to land my first YT of the season...probably due to my determination to land one on an iron and my lack of experience/technique using them. LOL Anyways...the breakfast burritos and hamburgers are good.

This post sounds like some “Snowflake/Crybaby” shit to me.

You’ve been on here since 2004 and your offended by a packed, cheap 3/4 day boat in so cal? Come on now

    Take your report to “Yelp”!!!

The worst part is when 40 of those 90 "anglers" get tangled and they just cut the whole mess away into the ocean.
