Looking good! Dog house is definitely the way to go. One recommendation is add a return on the roof to stiffen it up and prevent water from dripping down your back on wet days..kinda hard to see but hope this clears things up
At one point I had 4....Now I'm full focus on the whaler and the bayrunner can sit and rot until I get some blood on the decks of the whaler. But I just picked up a project golf cart I need to get running too. I may have a problem (at least that's what my lady says)Dude, do you have two boat projects going?
Oh my, I will pray for you! One is enough.
Don't feel bad. I went from rebuilding the boat to rebuilding my RV. Not a "lipstick" job, more full on rehab. At one point I had 4....Now I'm full focus on the whaler and the bayrunner can sit and rot until I get some blood on the decks of the whaler. Oh my neighbors know I’m nuts. My toy hauler is in one neighbors driveway, and my sand car is as well. Then at one point the whaler was in another neighbors driveway while I had 3 boats in my driveway. Luckily they are all cool and let me leave my stuff thrown about the neighborhood. I need to consolidate at some point. But that’s unlikelyDon't feel bad. I went from rebuilding the boat to rebuilding my RV. Not a "lipstick" job, more full on rehab.
My neighbors think I'm nuts. I agree.
Many of them already have 10oz tape on them. Once completely glassed all edges will get another layer of 10oz tape, as well as CSM. No wood will be exposedYou need a better solution for the edges of the wood. That is where the failure will start. I'm not sure what the solution is. Maybe your suppose to start by just wrapping all of the edges with glass first. Typically they end up with little or no glass on them after sanding and grinding with the wood exposed. Maybe they make a 1/4" or 3/8" wide glass tape. then you could bond the edges of all of the wood first. Then grind them, wrap them in glass and build from there.
You damn sure aren't afraid of using glass! What do you got, 3 layers of 1708, 10oz cloth and then 1.5oz CSM? That ought to be a stiff sob...
better than wasting time chasin' finicky BFT achieving nothing!
Carry On Skipper!
and chase 'em "In Style" too!! Woof!!Everything has at least 2 layers of 1708, most joints will have 3. Interior only has 1 layer of 1708. It’ll all get 10oz on the exterior, and the CSM will really just be for ease of fairing since it doesn’t add much strength. But yea it’s a lot of glass, I’m over it at this point haha. Hopefully it’s not too heavy.
I’m still angry because I keep seeing people get em! Oh well, I’ll finish this and then go chase em
