Went out on a buddy's boat out of SD bay around 7am. Relatively calm for most of the morning. Him and one of his friends were spearfishing while I was the lone rod. Decided to check 9-mile for paddies and only spotted one paddy on the way (tough to see them when cloudy). Stopped at a couple buoys where the spearfishers suited up and jumped in but no dice. Temp was about 68 until we got to 9-mile when it climbed to 70.8 degrees (solid temp break). That said, no signs of life at all.

Had to be back by 12:30 so we decided to salvage the trip by heading back to PL kelp where my buddy caught some really nice sheepshead and urchin. Winds picked up around 11am making for choppy seas. Still a great day and always nice to be out on the water.
