Finally broke the new boat in! Started about 8 miles off the domes south of the 267 yesterday. Was determined to find the right magic paddy and did not want to sit with the fleet and do the pluner bite early in the day. about 4 miles south west of the 267 we found what we were looking for. Seen a tern hovering then dive and sure enough 8 ft kelp. reeled in the trollers and on the retrieve in got slammed by a dodo. Started throwing chunk and it was wfo 15 to 30lb dodo. We kept 10 between us 2 and 2 20-25 lb yellowtail. By then we had a couple boats with us after 45min and we left it to them to go get the tuna. Ended up around the 267 for the drift and put 2 nice yft on the boat and called it a day at 11am were beat, sure we could have plunked a couple more tuna. The bigger yft was on the chunk other butt hooked sardine 40lb flourcarbon. 72 degree water, look hard, look harder, then look somemore! Love the visual fishin'!
