Boat partner and I took our boys fishing today. Pulled out of the slip at 5:10 and waited 10 minutes for bait. Big sardines. Some guy called them tarpon on the radio and he wasn't far off.

Left MB and headed towards 181. Clear skies but super bumpy from all that wind Tuesday. Kept it around 18 knots for about 15 miles. Slowed down, put trollers in and got bit on the halco within 3-4 minutes. 22lb yft but no bait fish. Another 3 miles west we saw some boats working an area and metered fish. Shut down chunked and flylined some baits. Ended up picking up 3 more in about 45 minutes. One football size and the others 20lb models. Fish disappeared so we headed north.

Wind layed down and we metered some fish inside the 209 but nothing doing. Turned around and trolled south as wind built back up. Ended up back in MB around 2:30.

Fun day. Was nice for a few hours between morning bump and pm wind. All fish reeled in by the boys. I was happily on gaff duty. No water temp as gauge is broke.
