Launched out of Dana Point Sunday 8/28 with plans to run out to the 209/312 area for some dodos. I was surprised to see really good bait from the barge.
Made a few oversized macs at the red buoy and headed out. Stopped on a few paddies for nothing on our way to the highspot. Got to the area short of the 312 and saw the El Dorado and several private boats fishing off a nice paddy. We set up a drift way outside the and started throwing chumming some chunked sardines. Picked up the first fish after 5 minutes with chunk bait, 20lb mono and #2 circle hook. I was the only one chunking and my 3 other buddies fishing live bait didn't get bit. We all switched to chunk with a steady line of chum in the water.

It seemed like we were bit more than alot of the other private boats fishing live bait. Not sure if that's true or not, but we couldn't get bit on live at all.
If you're not getting bit on live bait, try chunking! It worked for us.

Left that area and found another paddy a couple miles West and shared it with a solo PB'er who needed bait. We passed him a bucket of good bait and we proceeded to put 4 more in the kill box.

We left with 12 for the 4 of us.

Great day on the water and came home with some fish. No photos as you all know what a Dorado looks like!

We were a little SE of the 312 @ 32:55 117:39 and had no problem on 30# Pink Ande with or without Floro which got bit better than my 20# Seaguar Floro go figure.
