Phenomenal report. Heading out on Tuesday and you've convinced me to bring the gun. Thanks Ming.

Always load your speargun on the swimstep if jumping in on dodos.
They generally will charge a diver when you first get in and if your gun is not loaded that might be your only chance if they are skittish.
Congrats on both fish and a nice day on the water with your pops.

Thanks for the replies guys! Yeah, it's always great to get my old man on some fish. For so many of us, our dad's got us into the sport. They taught us tons about not just fishing, but life in general. Great to repay the favor whenever we can.

Fishing is partly about catching fish, but also a large part about creating great memories among friends/family. I love getting him that one special fish for the season. It only has to be 1 fish, but we'll be talking about it all winter. Last year, it was a nice brown at Crowley. This year, it's this nice mahi. Crack a beer and he'll start telling me about this mahi that he caught. Haha! Brings a smile to my face every time and it just adds to the stoke and anticipation for what's to come.......

    Tight lines boys!
    Ming
