After the cancel back on cancel back on Myself Guzzler and Ayla left HI around 1:30. grabed a scoop and a half of rino deans and headed south to the 238 area. We were not going to make the numbers by gray light so decided to drop them in at the 238. Area looked fishy even had a few meter marks but no knock downs. I decided to take a nap. @ about 7:00am I get up and mike sez "the water sure is cold" I say "wind um in lets run to the numbers" about 2 miles short I see a splash to port we all look and then comes Mr. Albert airborne. I hang a left and slide in on the area ... we all flyline a dean out and BAM Mike is on. I throw a scoop out and the water erupts! We fished this school for 1 hour to get limits for 3. we broke off 5 others. half way through the bite I lose a gaf, after boating the 2 fish on, we start a slow chum and idle to retrieve the gaf, after the gaf recovery we throw in and BAM! trible bait going again. I even caught them on the 30w and 60#. It was wide open. Limits by 8:30
Sounded like everyone in the area did well. Talked to Lee on the HeatherLynn II and Phil on the SouthernCal all with early limits. WTG guys.
The Scoop:
31 17 - 117 03
Temp 66.4
Limits for 3 (smallest 22#'s)
Weather bumpy but no real swell
When you hit the cold water at the 238 keep going it warms up and so does the fishing
Mike and Ayla, you are welcome anytime... I had a blast fishing with you and thanks for all the help with the boat
go get um
here are few pics
