Plan was to head to the 209 to try and get a mako and drop down for swords while we were at it. At 8am we ran across a bird school on the NE corner of the 209 and it turned into a yellowfin foamer blowing up on anchovy. Couldn’t get them to go on poppers and snipers but they were not boat shy and they stuck around for a couple minutes.

At the high spot we found another small spot of yellowfin up and down quick. Set out the chum and sword bait and made a couple drifts for nada.

Went to the 267 and made a drift there and called it a day around 4pm. No bites on the sword or shark baits, never even saw a mako. Despite the lack of action, it’s good to see some tuna up this way.

Windy.com shows water temps of 69-70 up in that area. What water temp did you find around the 209?
