Went South and stopped on the first Patty we saw below the 425. It was wide open 5 to 10 lb yellowtail with some nice dorado mixed in. We had it wide open for 3 hours probably released over 20 fish brought home a couple for the freezer and sushi. Thanks again to everyone who posts you guys made this trip a success for me. Cheers and go get them!

425 is 12.2 miles from the Coronados. Did you see the Mexican Navy anywhere?

Thanks. Was out there too, started at 302, 371 all the paddies were dry and hard to see. Got called into a patty between the 302 and islands, stopped on a paddie just short of the numbers and it was limits of 5-10 YT. Fun times.

I did that Dan, I used Navionics Chart plotting and 'site who's name cannot be spoken' calculator and it came out 11.7nm/13,45sm to the top of the 425 using 'the site who's name cannot be spoken' Range and Bearing Calculator and 12.2sm using the Navionics chart planner. Either way, it is just a Nav aid for me, I plan on staying west of the 425 on my way down to the Upper Hidden Bank. I will head for the 226 from MB and then down to the 371 where I will start to work. Ultimately I will work the area from 8-10 miles ENE and E of the Upper Hidden Bank. I do expect some afternoon wind. So it IS a 12 knm not 12sm. Only four (4) nautical leagues ! .............Ap

Those South Island #s are pretty darn close to what I used...what ya have for the 425?

    my 425 #s are :
    32 15.55
    117 22.8

    I still get LT 12NM between your S Island #s and my 425 #s...10.61NM

    upload_2017-8-5_16-3-3.png

    thanks...

those 425 #s are extremely close to my numbers...

sooooooooooooooo confused how you show that its GT 12NM from south island to 425...when I come up with 10.5 to 11

using your #s...I still come up with LT12NM using a distance calculator

    http://boulter.com/gps/distance/?from=N+32+23.477+W+117+14.449&to=N+32+15.342+W+117+22.810&units=nm

    upload_2017-8-5_17-7-27.png

I will continue to stay outside of the 425...unless I have the FMM and all the other papers I would need...which I will probably never do

    Dan,
This is not a mystery. You are using a site for calculation as am I. I am using two (2) sites. First, The Navionics site for my platinum chip that goes into my dual Simrad NSS9 evo2's at the low, low cost of either $299 or $399 I can't remember, and my second source comes from "The site whos name cannot be spoken' at the low, low cost of $169.00 per year. Obviously I would think that if you are gathering your information from a FREE website, is HAS to be more accurate. This is why I will stay miles away in addition to my needed 12.......Ap
