I guess my timing sucks. Left O side at 5:00AM, great bait, mixed sardines and perfect macks of various size. Wind up early and blowing like hell out of the south. Super sloppy going out to 181 and 289 area, 7:30 get there and not much going, a few birds and marks. Chum, live bait, flat falls, troll macks, poppers and nada. Never saw any BFT up top, very few paddies and no takers. Water temp 72 + and off color.
Very frustrating. It cleared up later in the afternoon but time to go, back on the trailer at 3:30pm. Last few times out, fish on the chew a few days before then weather or bite goes bad.
These BFT have eluded me for the past 2 years now. Maybe next week, window is getting smaller and hope to get that fish monkey off my back next Tuesday.
    To Be Continued.

Same story here yesterday. 4:30am Dana Landing. 8:30pm return! Beautiful fishless ride home though. 289/181 lots of krill/finbait/birds but no Pelagics.

Frustrating to say the least. Funny looks just like my boat.
Did you venture down the line to 182 at all?

On the return went 5 miles south of the 181 and then in from there at a 90 magnetic heading. North of the 182. Under the seiner spotter plane there was large school of YFT that didn't want to bite even though they stayed up for a long time and we had multiple cracks at it. Also two large paddies/patties that didn't produce and we even jumped in to spear but they eluded that as well.

    Dude,
Tried to hail you a couple of times out there, but you must have been heading in. I had a wonderful motorboat ride too, saw one fish, caught on bait and lost at the gaff on a nearby boat NW of 181. Getting lots of practice flinging the popper for fun. 135 miles, 181, 289, 182, 209 and then the Barn Nokelp. Green water everywhere. 0 for 4, or 5 trips now (lost count). Motor boating conditions were optimal in the afternoon though!
