Launched late, forgot the Lowrance (and realized it at the ramp...so we went blind, couldn't make macs, ran up the coast from MB to LJ to try a bit there for bait.
Our plan was to fish the pocket of warm water just North of Blacks and Del Mar. We ended up dragging lures our whole trip.
Lots of Porpoise and I mean lots! Acres of Porpoise! Lots of Birds working sitting etc. Water looked clear. Wish I could tell you the Temp but oh yeah I forgot the FF. So for me being 1/2 asleep and making my big mistake and the wind, waves and swell cooperating Chica Dulce and I had a very very nice boat ride today. Humbled again. Wish I had a different report. Will

    You can't.

    A Foamer is Fishing Crack.......

The sad part is, after it's gone, all you can do is smoke a cigarette
and have a drink. Kind of like what it must be after you nailed
    Julia Roberts....

A paddy with some dink YT's is of no interest.....

I saw miles of foamers going nuts for hours with little boat traffic Saturday with only one good bite but didn't swallow the hook for my step mom. Very awesome seeing that crazy action but just as frustrating not getting the deck bloody! Won't give up though.

We could use a little bit of luck and good fortune as well, because all we've seen lately is flashes from their middle fins as they foam through us this season.

I have heard from some (And these are guys I know understand Fishing) That they have over a dozen trips with plenty of seeing them but no catching them over 1000 miles on the water. And thats with the bulk of these tuna less than 30 miles from the beach. For as much fish that is out there there haven't been very many days were they just come to die at the rail. Lots of bait out there from chovy, crab, small tiny stuff etc. Without a doubt we have had something rare this year but for the greater part of all of us on the water it has not been wide open by any means. Trophy fish are cool given a life time of fishing (GOD WILLING) and the amount of time on the water that comes with that i am sure most will catch a trophy fish(S) of some kind but it dont seem to be at hand now. So as I write this I have 2 trips planed for next week. Good luck to all we all know if we do get out there we don't have a chance.

Very different type of fishing this year. Frustrating sums it up best. I stopped counting (I told myself it was better that way, but it still stung coming home skunked) after about 8-9 trips. Most of those days were 10+ hours. In all I have at least 12-13 tries and well over 100hrs/1000miles....and have a single 75# BFT to show for it. But I accomplished my goal to get a PB, so it was worth it. You can't stop trying. You'll get your turn.
    Thanks for the report
