I haven't been able to fish for four weeks but found time to get out yesterday. Launched out of Dana Landing around 5am. Picked up a scoop of mostly chovies with a few dines mixed in. Around 7am we got to the grounds and started to search. Found a few small schools of foamers but the fish were skiddish. Finally found one school that stayed up long enough to make one cast. Landed the popper in the middle of the foamers and it was game on. Had the fish to the boat in less than a minute. Felt good to get the first BFT of the year on deck. Searched for 4 more hours and couldn't get anything to stay close. Had good marks all day. We drifted over an area packed with fish sitting at 80 feet. Decided to dump most of our chovies on the spot with hopes of getting the fish up. A few minutes into the soak our 25# bait rod got smoked. Fought the fish for about 20 minutes before it chewed through. Appeared to be one of the larger models. Wind picked up around noon so we headed in. Good luck out there!

Nice job, guess that answers my PM question! Curious like most, leaving out of MB did you work West around the 182 or did you push down toward the 302/371?

Yup, a treble in the palm doesn't feel the best.

We were fishing south of the border.
