Launched at Oceanside around 630. Got a mix of various size deans and a few mac from the always friendly oside bait co, no rollers! Hit the mouth of harbor around 645 and waited 5-10min due to high south swell , was super nasty. After clearing the "washing machine" we trolled 10 out to the cbad knuckle area to find tons of life and a solid temp break. Found alot of nice paddys and a few larger garage doors. Flylined, surface iron, chunk..did it all for no takers. Crept up on a few paddys for a closer look and found some rats hanging out , not a sniff. Started to head back in around 1 when 8 out we see terns high over breaking fish. We made a quick run , got irons in and pulled up a bigger bonito and lost a few bigger fish..tuna?? Chased these breezers around for hours and would always sound then pop back up. Decided to call it and head in for bottom fishing to only be welcomed by a nice California halibut @ 26" by my roommate. And believe it or not I caught a 16" finescale triggerfish!! Have heard they are super rare above Baja?? Anyways, looks like things are shaping up to be another awesome summer!

No 43 in a 17'er. Was mostly looking in oside local areas to see what was going on. Made it to 181/182 and the corner a week ago to turn around due to wind. Gona head back that way this weekend!!

When I was a kid my dad took the family out for a weekend trip to Catalina and my little sister caught a Trigger fish on cut squid in about 50ft of water right near the Casino. They are rare but I have seen them in our local waters before. Very cool!
