Left Davies at 6:00am with my friend Sam.
Picked up a scoop of decent sardines from Nacho and headed over to Catalina. Ride over wasn’t bad with just a small bump. Found a spot in 40’ of water north of LongPoint right off the rocks and dropped anchor. We never moved after that.
Non-stop action on the fly line sardine until we called it quits at 1pm and decided to head back.
I was using 25lb with a size 2 mustad circle hook and that was the ticket! I landed 10 YT and lost 4 (3 broken line,1hook spit). My friend Sam was also killing it. One of those days where you don’t even have time to eat your lunch. LOL
Non-stop calico and a few barracudas also out to play.
Called over Nick and his dad in their 17’ whaler to join in the fun. What a great way to spend Father’s Day and some great fish for my friends and neighbors. :jig:

Glad you enjoyed great action! Pretty nice that you guys were able to find an isolated spot on a crowded day at the island.

Delete ASAP if I was you guys. Questionable location why risk it. Especially with background pics like those.

The CF numbers are blacked out, maybe not their first rodeo.

If it seems too great to be true, it probably is.

On a crowded weekend, there is no way you would be able to find a spot at Catalina with no other boats around - unless, of course, there is a reason other boats aren't around...

Fish and game were out there checking on Saturday, don't push the luck.
