Bad ass day on the water
Damn! What sized hook did you have to use for that bait fish? Haha, just kidding. Nice fishes!
Bad to the bone!
Awesome, and Mrs.Mako saved you the delicious Opah back strap too!!
I've heard Opah defend themselves by positioning their thick bony chest plate toward the predator. Looks like that's what happened and ofcourse the opahs motor is gone too
awesome catch... would like to hear the back story to this I'd assume you hooked the Opah and the Mako came around for some grinds and you managed to hook it too?
The opah was awesome but the mako was a close second.
Now thats catchin, way to go!!!!
We just pulled up to the murder scene the opah was still trying to swim with no tail and lower half we gaffed him and baited up the mako
Fantastic !!!! What timing.
Your post should have said 500LB Mako with 1/2 Opah! Wow what a great day.
I'll give ya' $5 cash for those jaws. Oh, you have to ship to TN to get that premium price!
Did that thing jump? That would be scary. What's up with all the holes on the shark?
Amazing. No kelp diving for me!
Wow amazing! Congrats on such a memorable day.
No gun or flying gaff a long pole with a knife atatched to it every time it came close we tried to stick it in the gills
Very nice! Who had the stones to slip that rope through Mrs. Mako's mouth?
A gaff shoved threw the gills out the mouth rope taped to the gaff
hahaha beat me too it! could be lookin like that opah quick!
Kind of like prison rules. Shank the shark, lol.
