    Awesome, and Mrs.Mako saved you the delicious Opah back strap too!!

    I've heard Opah defend themselves by positioning their thick bony chest plate toward the predator. Looks like that's what happened and ofcourse the opahs motor is gone too :)

    awesome catch... would like to hear the back story to this I'd assume you hooked the Opah and the Mako came around for some grinds and you managed to hook it too?

    The opah was awesome but the mako was a close second.

    We just pulled up to the murder scene the opah was still trying to swim with no tail and lower half we gaffed him and baited up the mako

    No gun or flying gaff a long pole with a knife atatched to it every time it came close we tried to stick it in the gills
