I was a little nervous having my fish processed by the "new" 5 Star after my trip last month....but it was absolutely perfect...I have my fish airfreighted to Tucson and it was delivered in perfect condition and on time... 3 boxes of smoked tuna, wahoo and tuna steaks.

Thank you 5 Star.....

I used them last summer and they were fine.

But the issue of not having fish offloaded directly to bins is an issue for me. They should try and "fix". The boats go to great lengths to deliver sushi quality product, and it gets thrown into carts that were rinsed with a hose, dumped onto concrete pad, and then dragged or carried to the Five Star table. I know others have issue with this.

I am sure 5 Star would be more than happy to....but only one processor is "allowed" to do that for certain boats...don't get me started on the whys and why nots of the situation.

Wow. I didn't realize there are any LR boats left that "throw" fish into carts anymore...I know the boat I do go on the few times I actually make it out there carefully load them and the fish make it to the 5 star slush just fine without any car crashes along the way...nice to see the first response there to bash the company that provided the service for many years before your processor jumped into the mix

We've had 5-Star take the fish off the SoA right into their bins and straight to processing.

I support 5 star. Competition is good for all of us. Monopolies drive prices up for the consumer. If Frank and his boys had their way, he would have strong armed 5 star out of the business and we would all be paying a higher price for our fish cleaning.

I have had a few fish dinners from my last trip a couple of weeks ago.... 5 star still has 5 star customers service and the fish came out tasting perfect. I have to say one thing..... my wife steeped up her cooking skills...........I still burn water LOL ............ I am going back to 5 star on my next trip in a couple of weeks.

I just returned from a 15 day on the 13th and had 5 Star process my fish as usual. As usual, excellent service and my fish was perfect. They also held it for me for two weeks until I could make it back down to get it. Also, their smoked fish is awesome!

Went down on Sunday a week after our trip got back and Marco made a special trip into the shop so we could get our fish as there were no boats coming in that day.

I've gone through this process several times and the results are always fantastic. You make it sound like they treat the fish like Curly Howard preparing a turkey dinner.

Glad to hear that 5 Star is still providing exceptional service. The slush bin thing is a non-issue in my opinion. My fish has always been top quality, and I also get a chance to take a picture with my final pile.

Hmm, Slush Bins next to only three boats out of Fisherman's Landing. RP, Shogun and Royal Star and why is that you may ask? Because the owners of the boats were the initial owners of Fisherman's Processing! Exactly, as Frank taught Timmy, never miss an opportunity to take your advantage. In this case, a convenience for their anglers, also a dog and pony show. ;)

So, let's head down to Point Loma Sportfishing and then to H&M. No slush bins, all fish carefully placed in carts, pushed up to the top of the dock and carefully sorted according to number. Makes a nice display, and nobody dies. Not inconvenient for me, no problem.
