Left Tuesday night on Vines n Lines with a great scoop of bait. Got to 371 by 2am as we metered lots of fish at 50-100' and shutdown till morning. Got 2 at dawn on sardines with 1 ounce glow weight. Really nice grade of bluefin. 1 bit 50lb and other bit 30lb. Then some a$$hole in an aluminum sword fishing type of boat drove right through our chum line and really shut our chances down. Thanks pal. You know who you are. Nothing for the rest of the day but heard it was slow for everyone. Metered a lot of fish at 100' feet but it looked like they were just passing through as the tails were shredded. Any ideas where they are going? I also caught and released this mystery fish that looked like it was a cross between a barracuda and a sailfish with the biggest teeth I've ever seen on a fish. Any ideas? Came back through the coronado canyon and south 9 and area was life less except for dolphins and lots of molas. Also bluefin stomachs were completely empty which surprises me? Hope this helps.

Lance Fish. IMO, a catch of a lifetime. I would put it up there with Opah.

Cool, not really into fish mounts but that thing deserves a place on the wall.

Thanks for the report and congratulations on your success (prior to a$$hat running through your chum). Your lancet fish is the first I've seen out of San Diego. Since you released it (my hat's off to you), I hope you got some good photos. Very cool.
