Went fishing with my wife, brother and neighbors to Catalina. Got good cured sardines from nachos, water was flat going across and lake conditions at the island with little current. The calicos wanted to play, lots of cudas also. Bonus was couple unexpected yellows on flyline sardines, lots of fun today done by noon.

How do you like your Glacier Bay? I’m considering one. Is that your first cat?

I was on the backside of the west end on the 4th as well. We didn’t get any yellows, but we did catch some short barracuda and some nice Calicos (all released). A couple of them in the 6-7 lb range. Hardbaits, softbaits and fly line sardines.

Bryan, this is my 5th boat but my first catamaran. Totally whole different ride than my mono hull boats, very stable and I noticed I’m not fatigued when I fished all day, we fished San Miguel island 3-4 times this year already and it can take 4-5ft waves at 8sec at 18-21kts, 4 guys can be on one side of the boat and it does not lean at all. Just love this boat no pounding anymore, guy I know is looking at the worldcat and we’re going to perform a sea trial next week, can’t wait to see the comparison between a planing hull vs a displacement hull.

John, that was my original plan is to fish around corner to iron bound cove and Ben Weston, 4 days prior coming from San Clemente island I decided to stop at little harbor on our way home for couple hours. We hooked 3 yellows and one wsb there but when I saw the boil at Johnson rock we decide to throw a bait and went wfo on the calicos then mix with barracudas with yellows so we never left the spot. See if i can upload my videos it says too large sorry
