Headed out of Newport early Sunday. Took son, nephews, and nephew friends. Hunt was for the dorado and yellowtail hopefully on paddies between that 289/181/43 area. Drove through the middle to the 43 and didnt see one paddy and didnt see any life. Trolled the 43 a little for nothing and then headed to the ridge. Again no life. Then as we were going up finally saw a paddie but there were a couple boats on it. Seemed like they caught something small. It really felt like from the mackerel bank to the 43 we have 71-73 degree lifeless water...

Went to Clemente. Caught some calicos, bonita, small yellows, and one decent 15lb yellow. So not a total waste. Kids also got to snorkel and it was amazing weather. But lots of fuel burned for the day.

Also, are paddies spelled "paddies" or "patties"?
