Left mission bay at 6:30 Headed to 425. Pretty good conditions, was hoping to run into a paddy or 2 on the way out. But none in sight. Arrived at 425 at around 8:15am Saw fleet near tuna pens. Water temp was between 72.8 to 73. Decided to troll outside of boat mass to possibly get them on the troll or run over a school or find birds. Some Signs of birds working a couple miles from pens but no biters. Decided to head back towards pens since we didn't find our own school. About half mile from pens we see boats stacked tightly together, got bynos out to see couple bent rods. Got closer, threw some chum out for immediate boils around our boat. Buddy threw out belly hooked sardine on 20lbs for instant bite. Landed a 12lbs yellowfin in a couple mins. Threw out another dipper of sardines for some boils, I cast nose hooked to boils for instabite on 30 lbs. Landed 15lbs in a couple mins. More boats pull up to us. See a few more hook ups on boats that dumped a ton of chum. We drift for about an hour with boiling fish around us but no takers. Later we line up and drift with other PBs and Sportboats near tuna pens. Few boils around us but no takers. Saw a couple hooked up on sportboat but seals may have gotten them. Pens got crowded so we left to find our own school again. Water temp still 73 with good conditions. But no signs of tuna so we decide to head in to Coronados.

Pretty slow at the Islands. Caught a few calicos (released)and a big Bonita(lobster bait) but no yellows. Not very many boats around. Decided to leave around 5pm.
