I don't know why we didn't try trolling we had two rigs ready to go and used them earlier in the trip. My guess would be that with a number of run and gun boats in the area, the chances of being cut off would be high. For Bf you have to troll long to avoid spooking them.

Yea, at list 100ft, or more back. You are slow trolling, as in just drop it in gear at idle speed so not so noisy.

More like 150 "yards" use 100' for Albacore, not BF! That far back next to run and gun boats means bad news?
