I have 2 psw809h's and like them! The 760h is great for fishing 30# bait as is the UC Tilefish Jr. I usually have Lexa's on the 809h's and bait reels on the 2 7 1/2'ers.

Tilefish Jr is an excellent 30lb rod and I’ve fished an old school CJB85 also thought that was solid for the same class as well, just a different action. The black diamond 809h is a totally different action vs the Abyss. Are you fishing Palegics or bottom dwellers?

Please don’t shoot! I still have several Phenix rods but sadly they don’t hold up the elements. I’ve had the black diamond, abyss, black diamond hybrid and titan series and after 2 seasons they begin to deteriorate. In all fairness I fish them hard but I’m slowly rotating them out. LOVE their warranty but I’ve been getting a replacement and selling it.

Can't go wrong with ole faithful. Too many rods out there in the 30 lb class, it's hard to find the one that fits your style the best. Go on a boat, make some friends, and pull on other blanks as well. Find out what style fits you best. That's one of the best parts of fishing, playing with new gear and figuring out what you like best.
