I was wondering if anyone has a rod scratched by 3 Jays that is not a JKF rod. I have one and a look-a-like that someone tells me it is a Harnel. I thought that they only did JKF rods.

Some of the early 3-Jays definitely had a different look. They must have been experimenting with different glass. I had a couple that had the early brown weave glass similar to the early Silaflex rods. They were not great tapers.

My point is that it doesn't look like any other JKF. I have others that look like this but aren't marked.

It's baby powder, Jay!

That looks like most JFK's for sure. The other glass i was talking about is more of the tobacco glass, the real early glass that most rods had from the late 50's./early 60's

That looks like the old Stanley Andrews ram rod blanks.Dark brown almost like the chocolate Sabre.
