For starters, I will ignore any and all comments regarding the Coast Guard, or the government issue in this thread because I am not going to sink to his level, and the internet isn't the place for these discussions.

Second. My intention wasn't to have an attitude, and the internet doesn't convey that well. I was simply saying "Lets all take a deep breath, same team, some goal. We all are here for the same reason."

I guess I should have explained better in my original post. We have boats that are capable of doing offshore runs on our own, with limited range in the 30 mile zone. We were looking to go further than that and hoped someone was thinking of doing the same thing. Not to sound smug, but we weren't interested in going paddie hopping looking for rat yellows. If I want a yellow tail, I'll jump on my kayak and go get one. It would be best to save everyone a bunch of wasted time and just put it out there on what the plan would be.

I have had great luck so far with the ride share section. I have met quite a few captains who have no problem taking 3 strangers out. Especially these days when people have tight pockets, I know a few captains who are having a problem finding enough people jump on board and drop a couple hundy sticks to go fish.

    Does this make sense?

It has nothing to do with being in charge. I don't agree with boats going out and slaughtering tuna numbers in the 600s and triple digit yellow tail. Last time I was on a cattle boat I was releasing all the YT I caught. I got a ticket for a bday trip and went with some friends.

I would much rather those rats grow up and become big LJ homeguards. The deck hand came and took the rod out of my hand and said "KILL EVERYTHING"

Not my style. I fish for sport, not food. I toss back LJ YT that are 20+ , why would I care for keeping rats? The only kelp paddie YT I care to kill are the ones getting a spear in the face

Also, the reason I won't charter a 4 pack is because I'm not desperate to go fish. BDecks, like any other forum is a form of social media. While some think the point is to sit at home and talk shit to other members, it may come as a surprise to most but that actually isn't the intended idea. Unless I'm wrong? I thought the sites main purpose was the exchange of information and possibility of networking.

Like I said, I have met a few "captains" on this forum who have taken me on their boats, all of which have been a great experience and have turned into friendships that extend beyond fishing.

There is a real arragonce that comes with being a captain for some people (not all, not even most, just a few), I don't know maybe it stems from being bullied as a child. "MY BOAT MY RULES" ;/
While that is a perfectly acceptable terms, and trust me, I understand the reasoning behind it... puffing out your chest isn't impressing me. So while you are "considering" inviting me, I will respectfully decline in advance as you are not the type of person I would care to surround myself with. Fishing is meant to be fun and stress relieving.
