I get the urge to tow down again from San Francisco. Yes, it’s a damn long way, but I was getting a bit bored of salmon and Halibut.

Day 1 Tuesday kinda late start. Wait for West Marine to open for an overflow bait tank hose and we’re off to the bait dock, in the water by 8:30. With weather report iffy thought we’d fish the kelp beds but finally decide to take a peak. Weather not bad.
Heard the 302 was going off so off we go.
Lots of foamers. Hook 1 on a small jig M1 Inshore rod. Had my hands full.
The other 3 come on 800XL fly lined sardines #2 ringed offset and 25# Shinsei FC top shot. 25-35# Bluefin.

Day 2 Wednesday 302 no foamers like day before. Very few. Ran below and outside Coronados. Buddy gets 1 BFT on long soak after foamer dies out. Heard some getting fish on poppers.

Day 3 Thursday 3 BFT. Fished the corner for 2 soaking 30’ down and 1 off of a small paddy a north 302.
1 on fly line 800xl/okuma 5/25# shinsei FC/#2 ringed offset J.
2 on 800m/Fathom 25N/40# FC/1/0 ringed circle/1oz egg weight. Much nicer to fight fish on.

All in corner of mouth. Biggest 35#.

Towing home to San Francisco tomorrow 1988 Whaler 18 Outrage/Yamaha F115.
Looking around I think we were the only guys wearing life jackets!

That is dedication. Glad you got into them. Well deserved. Just got back from visiting my brother in East Bay. 7 hour drive. Be safe trailering back home.
